Current

Sector Coordination Working Group

With the completion of the Growing Communities WA project, interested members of the project’s Steering Committee have formed a working group to help facilitate the development and funding of ongoing community garden sector coordination activities. If you are interested in supporting these activities, please contact: Chris Byrne (City of Swan) - Chris.Byrne[at]swan.wa.gov.au.

WA Community Garden Network

The WA Community Garden Network (WACGN) is an informal network of WA community gardens and their supporters.  Established in 2004, the network has played a significant role in bringing together people involved in community gardens to share ideas and skills, work collaboratively and provide a voice for the community garden sector in WA. The WACGN was a key partner in the Growing Communities WA project; members were actively involved in the development of the project and provided ongoing representation of the network on the Steering Committee that oversaw the project.

WACGN Listserver

The WACGN has an email listserver that makes contacting people involved in or interested in community gardens in WA quick and easy.  As a subscriber, you can post your community gardening questions to the listserver and have immediate access to the collective knowledge of the 140 other subscribers, including experienced community gardeners, people starting gardens, affiliated organisations and groups and interested individuals from the community, government and private sectors. The listserver is also an effective way of promoting your community garden events to a broader audience.

For more information on how to use the WACGN listserver and to subscribe or unsubscribe, visit the following web page: http://lists.perthimc.asn.au/mailman/listinfo/wacgn
